Introduction

Paya Bakung Village, located in Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency, is a prime location for conducting a feasibility analysis of rice farming. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the business by measuring the ratio of revenue to costs (R/C ratio), analyzing break-even points, and identifying the factors that affect rice production. In further analysis using multiple linear regression, it was found that factors such as land area, labor, fertilizer, seeds, and pesticides together had a significant impact on increasing rice production. However, when seen separately, only the area of land and phosphorus fertilizer (P) have a significant influence on rice production. Meanwhile, variable labor, nitrogen fertilizer (N), potassium fertilizer (K), pesticides, and seeds do not show significant effects.

This analysis provides important insights for farmers and stakeholders in Paya Bakung Village. Although rice production seems feasible to continue, farmers need to consider the selection of factors that contribute positively to the harvest. For example, by paying attention to the area of adequate land area and the selection of appropriate types of fertilizer, rice production can be increased more effectively.
