In the April-June 2011 period, a total of 176 cases of diarrhea were reported in toddlers, highlighting the need for a comprehensive study on the factors contributing to this health issue.

The results of this study showed that the attitude and actions of mothers about the diet of children under five have a significant effect on the incidence of diarrhea in Tanjung Morawa District. This finding suggests that knowledge alone is not enough to prevent diarrhea in toddlers, and that mother's behavior, particularly her actions in applying the right and hygienic diet, is the main factor that affects the incidence of diarrhea.
