Introduction

The Medan City Library, located in the heart of Medan, Indonesia, is one such institution that aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for its users. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the library's website and the performance of its librarians in increasing public interest in using the Medan City Library.

Results

The results of this study show that the influence of the library website on public interest is relatively low, with a value of 0.369 units. Conversely, librarian performance has a moderate influence, reaching 0.464 units. This suggests that librarian performance makes a more significant contribution to the interest of the public to use the library compared to the library website.

The findings of this study have several implications for the Medan City Library and other libraries in similar contexts. Firstly, the results suggest that the library website is not an effective tool for attracting and retaining users. This may be due to a lack of community understanding of the functions and benefits of the website, unclear navigation, or uninteresting content.
