High member motivation and awareness contribute to the accumulation of savings and loans, which in turn supports CU growth.

With increased income, members tend to save more, while low income leads to reduction of voluntary deposits, because most of them are used for daily consumption.

To increase the effectiveness of CUs, it is essential for management and coaches to strengthen their role in supporting members' participation. With strategic steps, it is hoped that CUs' success can continue and contribute greater to economic development in the rural area of Deli Serdang. The study also recommends that CUs should provide education and training programs to improve members' understanding of the principles of cooperatives and the importance of utilizing CU services.

This study has some limitations, including the small sample size and the limited scope of the study. The study only focused on two sub-districts and three CUs, which may not be representative of the entire region.
