Introduction

The results of this study indicate that the average death of grayak caterpillars with the addition of molasses protective agents reached 80%, while with the addition of turmeric filtrate reaching 53.33%. Meanwhile, the control group only showed an average death of 33.33%.

The effectiveness of molasses which reaches 80% shows that this substance not only acts as a protector, but also contributes to the killing power of viruses to pests. On the other hand, turmeric filtrate gives lower results, which is 53.33%. Nevertheless, the use of turmeric as a protective agent remains interesting to be explored further, given the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties it has.
