The river flow has a significant potential to generate electricity, and this study aims to investigate the feasibility of constructing a macrohydro power plant in the Langkat Regency river flow. Methodology

The F.J. Method was used to calculate the mainstay debit as a comparison value. This method requires rainfall data, evaporation, and water catchment areas. In addition, Flow Duration Curve (FDC) was used to determine the discharge in accordance with the probability of 90%. The calculation results using the F.J. Method showed a plan discharge of 5.19 m³/dtk. Furthermore, the analysis of the carrier channel design produced a square-shaped dimension with a width of 4 m and a height of 2 m, as well as a 34.99 m penstock pipe.
