However, the effect of fertilizer on fruit weight per sample and total cumulative weight of fruit per sample was declared insignificant.

Furthermore, the interaction between the type of mulch and NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the length of the fruit, the weight of the fruit per sample, the weight of the fruit per plot, the diameter of the fruit, and the total cumulative weight of the fruit per sample. However, this interaction did not have a significant effect on plant length.

The results of this study provide a clear picture of the importance of choosing the type of mulch and appropriate fertilization to increase the growth and yield of cucumbers. Black plastic mulch, as well as combination with NPK fertilizer, gives better results than straw mulch.
